This game is a good complement to Wii Sports and the Wii Fit, and fun for the whole family. The games are very entertaining, challenging and in many cases will leave you breathless. The graphics are not as sharp as other games - they're more cartoonish, but the physical activity required to succeed in the games is very high (which is good). It makes some very innovative uses of the Wii remote (not included), and the nice wide mat which is included. Our family rates it a top game for the Wii, and we highly recommend it.
Lots of fun January 8, 2009 Sherry Carlson (Portland, OR United States)
I bought this for Christmas for my kids, age 13 and 9. My nine year old said it is the best game they have for the Wii. It is nice to see them get off the couch and work up a sweat. I have also been using it as an alternative to the Wii fit for working out. It is challenging and keeps my interest. Great product!
Excellent Activity Game January 8, 2009 Dawndavis
We got this game for Christmas and my boys (ages 8 and 12) love it! We have the Wii Fit and Wii Sports, but this one seems to be the favorite. It gives you a whole body workout! Unlike the Wii Fit (which can make a younger person feel bad when they don't do well), the Wii Outdoor Challenge is more encouraging and has WAY more choices so everyone can find something they can excel at! I think it is a wonderful purchase and have had no problem with the mat yet!?! Hope this helps.
Great hit in our family! January 8, 2009 Heidi the Homeschool Mom (Minnesota, USA)
We just got a Wii for Christmas. We got the obvious Wii sports, then purchased Wii Play and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. We were amazed at how many of our 6 children loved this. One of our children doesn't like the active games, and only likes the Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I see he probably will always be a couch potato, so hopefully his metabolism stays high! However, we did wonder about a few other of our children not liking it, but we were so wrong. Even our 20 year old is loving her college break even more because of the Wii! The person I had really wanted to love the Wii games wasn't as interested. Besides being autistic and mildly retarded, he is ADHD. I had hoped he'd love the Wii, and would be able to burn off the Minnesota "can't-play-outside" blahs. He cannot explain, but I believe the remotes were frustrating to him because he couldn't completely understand using buttons A and B. Enter the Wii Active Life Outdoor Challenge! I just got it two days ago, but he loves it. He doesn't need to bother with the remotes--and can kind of navigate (with some initial help) through the games. He likes it because he can keep bouncing and moving and working off his excess energy--without having to keep waiting as much as with some of the other games. My only disappointment with it is that the game mat seems a bit flimsy, and is a bit narrow for adults, as some have previously stated. If you plan this only for small to mid-sized children, it will be fine. HOWEVER, don't be surprised if you get involved too! I hear that Wii will be coming out with more Active Life games. We cannot wait!
If working out could only be this fun!!! January 8, 2009 Mrs. Butcher (Indiana)
Excellent product for all ages. My 40 year old husband loves to play this with my 9 year old daughter. Be prepared to work out!!! Everything works great; daughter needed a little help understanding a couple of games, but we figured them out, with help from the book. Well worth the money! The nice thing about this game is that when you do get tired, there is a couple of sit down games that you can do, if your not quite ready to stop playing! Next step is to try and play two players at once!!
