Customer Reviews Poor Quality January 6, 2007 Roger R. Hathaway (Southwest Virginia) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This unit is very poor quality. The metals are weak. The saw guide is made of pot-metal and broke the first time I used it. I found it impossible to cut a straight cut through meat. The Manual gives no manufacturer name or origin or phone number or means of replacing any parts. It looks pretty good, and is cheap, which makes it available to common people, but it really isn't worth the money. The Manual doesn't even tell the length of the saw blade so you can find a replacement. Something for post-industrial age third-world America. Junk! I'm only now finding on internet that it comes from Buffalo Tools, whoever they are. It is understandable why they don't put their name on the unit.
"Cheap construction" August 23, 2004 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
This saw uses less than quality materials and is manufactured with very lax tolerances. Welds are ground off, painted over and have holes. I could do better with caulk and paint. There are NO assembly instructions. The only guide to aid in putting it together is a parts lits. Some parts do not work, ie, nuts and bolts with irregular threads. I would not buy this item again. I don't think it will last and the shipping charges are outrageous. I paid a lot to ship to Texas and now see those charges are half of what they were when I purchased 3 weeks ago????? Cheap, cheap, cheap. Go to a butcher supply and spend your money there.
