The unit itself is very sturdy. I feel very safe moving it away from the wall. My only problem is after we made sure everything was level and mounted it, we found out that the arms are not level. The plate was level, but the arms were slightly off. Needless to say that was very frustrating after we went to such amounts to make sure it was 100% level. Yes we did try to tighten everything but it still did not correct the problem.
Good function, but limits to placement December 26, 2008 Rosen 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I like the price and functionality of the mount, but the bracket placement limits where you can hang the mount. The holes are built exactly for 16" studs with no variance. Would work fine if hanging on a blank wall and you could pick the location, but is limiting if you have an exact place in mind. Need more options for bracket placement.
Heavy Duty, but the quality of hardware is poor December 22, 2008 Alan White (Missouri) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This mount is heavy at 38lbs and seems sturdy, but the mounting bolts, bushing, rods and hardware are of extreme poor quality. The machining and fit and finish is also poor. I mounted a 58" Plasma TV weighing 138 lbs and there was so much twist and sag that I was concerned that the mount would hold my TV. One of the pivot rods and bushing even fell out while the TV was sitting on the bracket because the rod was too short and only about one thread was holding. The dual pivot arms is a good design and I liked the way it can be pulled out from the wall to get to cables. So, I went to the hardware store and purchased new bolt and some washers to rebuild the mount using solid hardware. This worked out well and reduced the sag and twist to almost nothing. Another problem was the tilt feature. It is very difficult and get the center bolt and the 2 adjustment knobs tight enought to prevent the TV from slipping and tilting fully down. I would only recommed this mount for smaller TVs or for someone that wants to replace the mounting hardware.
Great wall mount December 3, 2008 Allan Johnston (Colorado) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
When I received this mount I could hardly believe how much it weighs. 38# of steel that allows me to manuver the tv all over the place. The design allows the tv to be moved out, side to side, and swiveled to almost 90 degrees. Great preoduct!
Excellent price; rugged product November 30, 2008 E. Thaxton (Boston, MA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Used this mount for a 52" LCD wall mount. It was simple and rugged. The price was far lower than competing mounts. The arms move smoothly, and it articulates through an excellent range from the wall and wide angles at any range. I am extremely pleased with the mount. The only negative feature is that the arm-mechanism is a little heavy 25-30 lbs, making mounting it a little more than just "cake". I set the arms on my shoulders, where it balanced reasonably well, and then screwed it to the wall.
