George became heavyweight champion in 1973 by knocking out Joe Frazier, he would retire from boxing in 1977 after a loss to Jimmy Young and became a preacher. Remarkably, 20 years later he would regain the title in stunning fashion by knocking out Michael Moorer in Las Vegas at age 45.
