I was really excited when I ordered this product because it was a Christmas gift for my best friend. When it arrived I was slightly less than thrilled. The product information had said it was in very good condition, but when it got here that didn't quite seem to be a proper description. The cardboard covering was ripped and warn so I had to just throw it away before I gave the gift away. I was a little bit worried when I gave it to my friend because really who wants to give a less than perfect gift away? In the end I am pretty sure that the DVD works just fine, which is all that really matters I guess, but I was rather disappointed. I can't blame the person who I bought the product from fully for sure for my disappointment because it very well could have been something that happened in the shipping process, but either way I wish that I would have known that it was not going to be in what I would consider very good condition.

This was a purchase for a Christmas present. The item was received in time for the holiday and was in the condition represented. I would most certainly purchase from this seller again.

Dan (Steve Carell) is an advice columnist who, despite the help he provides to his readers, is floundering as a single parent raising three daughters. When they head to a Rhode Island beachfront cottage for an extended family vacation, things really get tangled. Sent by his mother to get the newspaper, this widower meets Marie (Juliette Binoche) in the book section. They are immediately attracted to each other. Upon his return to the cottage, Dan finds that Marie is his brother's new girl friend. You can imagine, well no, you really can't, where this all leads. I better not give more details so as not to ruin it for you, but trust me, you will emphasize with the characters, share their moods and have an overall delightful time.

Another title for this movie could be, 'A Fist Full Of Cliches'. Another reviewer said that Steve Carell was pretty good up until the shower scene - he wasn't. I'm putting the same amount of energy into this review as went into the script.

The rich scenario played on a stage of a rich culture takes us to a complicated romantic situation, to a deep and powerful love which unfortunately is impossible due to the fact that it must face boundaries, the ones built by love of a different kind.

I rented "Dan in Real Life" with having a mysterious doubt in my mind, but it turned out to be one of the best movies I have ever seen. Then, I surprised myself when I ended up watching it six times in a week only.
