Danca Amorosa is delightful to listen to, but the selections are played so fast that they are useless for dancing. I've been practicing Renaissance dance for over a decade, but attempting Saltarello (3) at the tempo on this CD puts my ankles at serious risk.

We know very well this little collection of instrumental dances...Saltarello, Isabella, Trotto, etc. But It's a different, amazing and really enjoyable view of this popular music. The substance of the works performed here provides us with new notions as to the speed and the heady, almost hypnotic power of those pieces. Other excellent choices : Binkley, Micrologus, Munrow.
