I bought these bags on a whim while dieting. I was eating healthy foods (fruits and veggies) but could not consume them fast enough before they went bad. When (if) you read the directions it reccommends that you check your produce daily and "wipe" out the bag. There was condensation on the inside of the bag that actually cause the produce to go bad faster than if you just left original packaging. Will never purchase again, would give a minus score if I could.
Well, I like them! January 4, 2009 Beanieweenie
I have the memory of a goldfish and will forget about produce in a second! The Debbie Meyer Green Bags actually perform as advertised and save my fruits and veggies many a time. The only troubles I have are with strawberries, but their life is actually extended by two or three days; a minor extension, but it's still there. I notice the difference in my salad greens and apples, especially. They're worth it.
BEWARE!!! NOT AS ADVERTISED. December 29, 2008 Chris Schatz 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this product with such high hopes of preserving my fruits and vegetables and extending the life of each one. What a disappointment!!! The amount of money spent may as well have been thrown out of the window. The only one that ever showed any effectiveness was a large green bag that I used to store potatoes. The moisture that collected inside of these bags seemed to speed the rotting process. I tried wiping them out each day; I made sure that I was storing, folding and following every direction that was given--which were scarce to begin with. I should have been suspicious when I was unable to find a way to communicate my displeasure with this product. They claim that you can wash and reuse them up to 10 times but I never even got a decent second use of these silly things. If I had been able to find out how to return them for a full refund, I would have done that. I gave some to my daughter and she had the same experience. WHAT A JOKE THESE THINGS ARE!! Ch

As another reviewer stated, things look good on the outside, but rot just as quickly on the inside. Bruising is not an issue, as the bags seem to mask that problem. I did a side-by-side comparison with bananas. The "control group" ripened just as we have always seen with bananas: darkened at the bruised areas, but you can cut out the bruised tissue & enjoy the "good part" that remains. The "green bag group" looked good on the skin outside, but the actual fruit disentegrated when opened. It looked mealy. I could not bring myself to taste them. So-I will not buy them again. take care!
This is great product December 18, 2008 2Bhealthy (Virginia)
I am not sure why others don't like or have had problems with this product. These bags work great for me. I only put a few items in them at one time. I also make sure that the produce is dry, uncut and kept together based on type (i.e. tomatoes with tomatoes, celery with celery etc.). If you do that, the produce will last at least 3X as long as it would normally. I have not noticed the problem another reviewer noted with the food being good on the outside but bad on the inside. Honestly, these bags have helped me to save the money I'd been throwing away on spoiled/wasted produce. I highly recommend them.
