Kind of a Let Down June 27, 2008 G. MCDONALD (Texas) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have to be honest, after playing Lego Star Wars (LSW) II (why wasn't LSW I ever released for PSP?), and experiencing the loadtimes of God of War, I'm unimpressed by Lego Indiana Jones (LIJ). The gameplay was pretty good, but I found a couple glitchy spots when playing in Free Play mode, and by the time it got done loading between scenes or from the college to the chosen adventure, I was falling asleep. The characters are great, the storyline is great, but it's hard to stay interested when an hour of gameplay time only amounts to about 40 minutes worth of actual gameplay. It's time to do better. The UMD drive is working overtime on this game, driving down battery life, and some of the maps are way too 2-dimensional. Sometimes it was more like playing an old version of Castlevania! LSW had such great 3-D maps and the environment was very absorbing. LIJ just didn't have the inviting maps and gameplay of LSW.
I guess I'll have to shelve this one, and wait for Star Wars, The Force Unleashed and Lego Batman to be released in September. It's really a shame ... I had such high hopes for this game.

I'm over 13 but gave it to grandson who loves it. Picked it up very quickly. Uses it on his PSP. At the moment his favorite game, [he has many].
Almost perfect...but they didn't Lego the Load Times. June 25, 2008 The Matrix Fan 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
Having played Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures on the Playstation 3, I had high hopes for the Playstation Portable version.
After a brief 3.95 Firmware update, I loaded up the game, and everything looked excellent. Before long, I was digging up treasures, deciphering symbols, and rescuing phobic characters from their worst fears.
I found myself playing for hours, addicted to finding all the hidden artifacts and unlockable power-up parcels. I scoured all over to unlock every character, find each hidden mission, and I enjoyed many laughs at the antics of Lego Indy, Short Round, Marion and Willie, and all the others.
So why didn't I rate the game with five stars?
Simply put, the load times.
In the Playstation 3 version, there were only minimal pauses between cutscenes and transitions to the intermission level.
However, in the PSP version, all of these load times are prolonged. They happen between every cutscene, and we have to wait longer for the gameplay to start. There is a lot of audible movement within the PSP during these load times, which contributes to a diminished battery life.
This isn't the first time Traveller's Tales has had problems with load times in their games - back in 2001, their game Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex was criticized for this same problem.
Don't get me wrong, I loved this game - but if you're going to take Indy on a day trip, make sure you have a 100% charged battery and a PSP recharger for the ride.
Fun, fun, fun...oh and more fun!!! June 9, 2008 Brotha Epiphany (Washington DC) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Outstanding game! Just like the last persons review this game is hard to put down. If you are a fan of the star wars game then this is a must have. I can't wait for the batman lego game this fall.
Indy LEGO is loads of FUN!! June 6, 2008 Bradley C. Abernathy (Charlotte, nc) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I picked up the game yesterday and have had a hard time putting it down!! I was very pleasantly surprised by how much fun this game is.
The game has a good balance of action and adventuring/puzzle solving. Lots of stuff to find which translates to great replay value for me.
Once you complete a level/chapter of a movie, of the original trilogy, you unlock freeplay mode. So you can go back through the level and really explore it and find all the goodies you missed the first time around. You can also play as any character you have unlocked. Very cool indeed!
The levels are fun and not too difficult which is perfect for me because I don't want a game that frustrates me more than it entertains me.
This is a must have PSP title!
There is a sneak peak/trailer for the Batman LEGO coming in September! After playing INDY, I cannot wait!!
