Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Housed in a smooth, modern-looking design, this 1000-watt electric kettle rapidly boils up to 1 quart of water for coffee, tea, instant soups, and more. The unit features a detachable cord and a nonspill spout for graceful serving, plus a generous handle with a secure grip. Its immersed heating element provides a rapid and quiet heating process, making it ideal for the office, home, or college dorm. Dual water-level indicators allow for convenient filling, and the unit's easy-open lid is designed with a security lock to prevent spilling. And there's no need to worry about leaving it on, the kettle automatically shuts off when the water boils, and its boil-dry protection keeps the unit from boiling when there's no water left

3 out of 5 stars Small but works well   September 7, 2008
Chesney Malabuyo (Santa Cruz, Ca)
While this kettle does heat the water fairly quickly, I thought it was going to be a little bigger. It says it makes 6 cups, but in reality it makes about 2 1/2. I'm not sure what their measuring standards are, but they aren't the same as mine. So sometimes I just fill it a few times in order to get the amount of hot water I need.

4 out of 5 stars Good and easy tool   September 6, 2008
H. Yang (USA)
This is a very good and convenient kettle for my house and we no longer needed to watch the water boiling, which wastes much time and lets us worry about burning out the pot or the kitchen.
It only takes a few minutes to get water done. The only bad thing is the cord is too short that I have to pull off it every time to pour water; one time I was too busy and forgot to pull off, the hot water spilled on my hand and got badly burned.

2 out of 5 stars Supposed to be 1 qt   September 3, 2008

The electric kettle does make hot water fast but it is supposed to be 1 quart. It's not. The volume is 1 liter.

5 out of 5 stars great buy for students and everyone   August 31, 2008
Daniel R. Jewell (Northern California, USA)
bought this for my dorm room, and it works amazingly. Boils water in under 5 mintes and automatically turns itself off, making it ideal for my living conditions. I now use it for everything, including at my house and work.

1 out of 5 stars This is okay if you don't mind your water tasting like plastic   August 22, 2008

This mini kettle makes your water taste like plastic. I'm not sure how the others have managed to drink from it. I've tried boiling it out a number of times, but the strong plastic scent and taste remain. That can't be good for you. Also, the cord is extremely short so expect you will need an extension unless you put it right next to the plug. Unfortunately, I will be returning this.
